CIT
Clinical Investigators of Tomorrow
Empowering the next generation of clinical trial leaders in pulmonary medicine
Breakthroughs in pulmonary medicine hinge on bold ideas, rigorous methodology, and the curiosity of those who are just entering the field. The Clinical Investigators of Tomorrow (CIT) initiative was created to identify, support, and elevate promising early-career clinicians and researchers who are ready to shape the future of pulmonary clinical trials.
Unlike traditional young-investigator tracks, CIT is built as a dynamic ecosystem where rising talents engage directly with senior experts, gain hands-on insights into trial design, and contribute to a collaborative, innovation-driven community.
Our Mission
To cultivate the next generation of investigators capable of designing and leading high-impact clinical trials in pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease, asthma, COPD, and related fields with integrity, vision, and scientific excellence.
What CIT Offers
1. CIT Peer Circle: Collaborative discussion sessions
CIT members participate in small-group, interactive roundtables with established leaders in the field. These sessions are designed to explore real-world challenges in trial methodology, endpoints, patient recruitment, regulatory expectations, and emerging therapeutic landscapes.
2. Behind-the-Scenes Masterclasses: How pivotal trials are built
Exclusive access to closed-door sessions where experts walk participants through the architecture of major pulmonary trials, from concept and protocol development to operational pitfalls and data interpretation.
3. CIT Spotlight Sessions: Elevating new voices
Selected young investigators present early ideas, methodological questions, or preliminary findings in a supportive, constructive format. Instead of formal judging, the focus is on mentorship, refinement, and scientific dialogue.
4. Networking with purpose
CIT brings together clinicians, researchers, statisticians, and industry partners to create genuine opportunities for collaboration and career growth. Our aim is to cultivate long-lasting professional relationships that support the next steps in each participant’s trajectory.
5. Access to future opportunities
CIT participants will be considered for future roles within the workshop: session contributors, moderators, or collaborators on ongoing PCT initiatives.
Who Can Apply?
CIT is open to:
Early-career clinicians
Postdocs, research fellows, junior faculty
Clinician-scientists beginning to engage in clinical research
Individuals who aspire to design or lead clinical trials in pulmonary medicine
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and regions, the diversity of ideas is essential to progress.
Why CIT?
Pulmonary clinical research is entering a transformative era. New diagnostics, biological insights, and therapeutic modalities demand investigators who are prepared to navigate increasingly complex trial designs.
CIT gives rising talents the space, tools, and mentorship to grow into confident, innovative trialists.
