Patients’ Role at the PCT Workshop

Patients Shape Clinical Trials

In medicine, every breakthrough starts with a patient’s lived reality.

At PCT, we are not seeking to disrupt the current clinical research model, we aim to strenghten it.

Our Patient Inclusion initiative integrates patients as active contributors in shaping how pulmonary trials are imagined, designed, and interpreted, with a central focus on what matters most: quality of life.

Why Patient Inclusion Matters

Pulmonary diseases are complex, symptoms fluctuate, burdens vary and lived experiences often reveal what traditional metrics may overlook.

When patients contribute insight early:

  • Endpoints become more relevant and aligned with quality-of-life priorities

  • Recruitment becomes more effective

  • Adherence improves

  • Study outcomes reflect real-world benefit, not theoretical improvement

Bringing patients into the process from the very start is a scientific advantage as it leads to better-designed trials, stronger evidence, and innovations that genuinely improve daily life and long-term well-being.

PCT Meeting – Patients Included™ Statement
